ADEBAR Project

The ADEBAR Project is a German collaborative project on the structure elucidation of novel substances emerging on the drug market, co-funded by the European Union's Internal Security Fund. The first ADEBAR Project was funded from July 2017 to June 2019 (grant number: IZ25-5793-2016-27). From September 2019 to February 2023 the work was continued through the ADEBAR plus project (grant number: IZ25-5792-2019-33). Since December 2023 is carried forward in the project NETZWERK ADEBAR until November 2027.
The acronym NETZWERK ADEBAR contains the elements of the project: "Expansion of analytical databases, collection and nationwide provision of analytical data, pharmacological data, spectra of metabolites and reference materials for substances emerging on the drug market" (Ausbau analytischer Datenbanken, Erhebung und bundesweite sowie internationale Bereitstellung von analytischen Daten, pharmako-logischen Daten, Metabolitenspektren und Referenzmaterialien für neu auf dem Drogenmarkt auftretende Stoffe [German]).

Competence Network

The ADEBAR Project is a competence network consisting of the Federal Criminal Police Office, seven state criminal police offices and the Education and Science Center of the Federal Financial Administration (General Customs Directorate), the Universities of Freiburg, Mainz and Münster. The coordination of the analytical and scientific tasks is carried out centrally at the LKA Schleswig-Holstein. The administration towards the EU is carried out by the BKA, which applied for these projects and also contributed its own financial resources.
